Sailing Club

The Bentley Sailing club is quite active in regional regattas, being a member of NEISA.  The club has a competitive aspect, but is also enjoyable for leisure sailors.  We practice twice a week in the fall and the spring out of Boston University's Sailing Pavilion on the Charles River.  We generally sail FJ's, with occasional regattas in 420's and generally fleet race.  Practice times are from 1:15pm to 6:00pm Mondays and Wednesdays and we provide transportation.  New members and beginners are always welcome, it is a great break from a hectic school week!

Women's Rugby

Bentley Women's Rugby started in Spring 2001 by an ambitious group of girls. Through dedication and perseverance, they developed into a respectable club team. The majority of girls that join rugby are completely inexperienced. The girls learn self-confidence, loyalty, and strength of mind. The members do everything from setting the schedule, to managing the finances, to recruiting, and all the little administrative details in between. As a result it gives students a unique chance to get actively involved in the works of an intercollegiate sport. There is no experience necessary.

Wrestling Club

The Wrestling Club is one of Bentley's newest club sport organizations and was established in the spring of 2006.  The Wrestling Club gives members an opportunity to learn the sport of wrestling in a fun, but competitive atmosphere.  Bentley Wrestling competes at the national cub sport level in the NCWA division.  Join wrestling to get in shape, compete again, and have a great time!  Weight loss is not encouraged.

Fierce Individuals Reaching Excellence (FIRE)

F.I.R.E.  -  Fierce Individuals Reaching Excellence. It is the mission of these individuals to enlighten Bentley University and surrounding communities about the art and history of Step. We are not simply a team of dancers; we step for meaning, emphasizing the importance of diversity in attaining creative and organizational goals.

Step is an art form that used the stomping of feet, the clapping of hands, and props to produce a rhythmic sound. It originated in the coal mines of South Africa where workers would hit the sides of their boots and clap their hands to communicate with each other. At that time, it was called gumboot dancing. Since then, this form of dancing has been adopted by schools, organizations and churches and is primarily used for entertainment. Not only does a good step need to have a great beat, but it also needs to be visually appealing.

F.I.R.E. performs in various cultural and dance shows on and off Bentley's campus. Being part of the squad gives members the opportunity to learn about the art of step while building new relationships and developing leadership and teamwork skills. We add a distinct facet to Bentley's culture by providing an opportunity to join an inclusive, fun and educational association, with no boundaries to its success.

Golf

The Bentley Golf Association is an open club on campus that provides golfers of all skill levels a channel to play golf during their semesters at Bentley.  We typically run several driving range trips a year at the Lexington Pitch and Putt.  At these events, students can either hit a bucket of balls or play 9 holes on their par three course for free.  In addition to this event, we have our annual Spring tournament that takes place in April at a local course in the Greater Boston area.  For a small fee, members who play in the tournament get an 18-hole round as well as lunch and the opportunity to win several raffle prizes.  Typically members of BGA have their own clubs but there are also golf clubs provided at the driving range events.  All students are welcome to join and we urge members to join the e-board to create new and exciting golfing opportunities.

SAAC

A student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations, and polices that affect student-athletes’ lives on NCAA member institution campuses. Presently, there are separate national SAACs for NCAA Divisions I, II and III. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have SAACs on their respective campuses. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have SAACs. Bentley’s SAAC supports the athletes, works with the Waltham community, supports Make A Wish Foundation, and runs SuperFan Events to publicize varsity sporting events.
