About the Org

The Chi Iota Cast of Alpha Psi Omega is the resident theater society at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. We serve as the primary producing agent for theatrical productions of all kinds, including musicals, straight shows, and collections of short plays.

Every fall, and as of 2013 every spring, the Chi Iota Cast recruits new members into the organization via an understudy process. Understudies have the opportunity to get to know current members and learn about the functions of APO through a series of carefully planned events and activities, coordinated by the organization’s Organizational Development Committee or ODC. In early December or April, understudies are officially welcomed into the organization through a formal ceremony, referred to as pinning.

Every year, APO puts on two major productions, a musical in the fall and a straight show in the spring. Shows are chosen by the cast the previous year, and participation is open to any and all Bentley students. We also produce a Bentley’s Annual Arts Festival in late winter, and smaller topical or seasonal shows, including The Laramie Project and It’s a Wonderful Life.
